An Elephant Procession in the Southern Tip of India

The Urulanthanni River is located near the southern tip of India. It is surrounded by lush forests which are home to a local elephant herd. The beasts roam free and wild. They march through the land and the workers in the area came to know them very well. While they feel a mixture of amazement and fear at the sight, the workers had learned not to bother them.

Every time the herd would pass by, the ground seemed to shake under their weight. The sound and feeling could be compared to an approaching freight train. It seems that they knew by heart where they were going.
